Kaulback Productions, run by Lisa Kaulback, offers tangible, honest, straight forward solutions to photographers in the commercial photography industry. Twice a year Lisa sends out printed promos to creative and marketing agencies across North America, featuring select work of some of the photographers she represents.
Lisa and I conceptualized various formats and layouts for the 2020 spring promo and worked closely with Vancouver based Mitchell Press to narrow down our paper and binding options. Beyond custom envelopes, we settled on a stitch-bound vertical book, with a custom cover flap, as well as branded inserts throughout.
All inserts match Kaulback Productions brand colours and provide information on each photographer. The inserts are a fun and informative design detail, tie the branding together from cover to cover and allow each photographer's work to shine on the pages throughout without much distraction. Each photographer had two dedicated spreads, the first including the blue insert with their name on the front, and web address and social info on the back.
With every photographer featuring very impressive yet different work it was a fun challenge to help edit down the final selections, and figure out how to best lay out the photos for each photographer individually, while keeping some consistency throughout the whole book.
