Hennygraphy
branding, print
Henny, the creative behind Hennygraphy, is a destination and intimate wedding photographer based out of Vancouver. Beyond portrait and wedding photography Henny is seeking to take on more editorial work and was ready to give her brand a visual upgrade.
Capturing the fleeting moments in every day life, the design for Hennygraphy's new logo wordmark was very inspired by the style of the photography itself, cinematic, romantic and nostalgic. The logo wordmark features a unique serif font which has been customized specifically towards Henny's brand. Some of the letters have been carefully combined, creating a natural and intimate flow throughout. Inspired by the beauty of the imperfection there's a lot of play within the letterforms and serif, as well as a few rounded features, creating something that feels both elegant and friendly.
The final logo wordmark comes together in a variety of alternates and submarks, from the main horizontal version to a few stacked variations, with and without the tagline, and a variety of little icon graphics to have fun with throughout.
Reflecting back on that nostalgic and cinematic feel of the work itself the colour palette for Henny's brand is made up primarily of warm neutral colours, from creamy off-white to sandy beiges and light cedar browns. This primary colour can then be combined with a purple mauve or a currant red whenever a splash of colour is welcomed.
Beyond the branding assets, I also designed two business cards and two postcard designs for Hennygraphy, a vertical and a horizontal so Henny can insert photos as she sees fit and take control over her printed materials.
With the assistance of the brand guideline I put together for Henny she was able to find a beautiful web template for her new website, beautifully in-line with her new branding.
