lotta nieminen

I’ve been noticing Lotta Nieminen’s name pop up a lot so I cruised over to check out her portfolio. She’s an award-winning Graphic Designer originally from Helsinki but now living in NY creating beautiful designs and illustrations. I stumbled across this ad for the Union Pearson Express Lotta Nieminen illustrated and felt it was fitting to share, seeing as how I’m heading to Toronto myself in less then two weeks. Too bad the new rail service isn’t up and running quite yet…

Last Christmas we visited CN Tower and this time we’re probably checking out the Art Gallery of Ontario. Any suggestions what else we should visit? Any extra yummy food places? I’d love to hear from anyone who lives in Toronto or has been there before!

Speaking of short travels I happened to come across this great little site called 12hrs via miss moss which is a quick non-touristy travel guide highlighting a few spots across various cities with a simple 12 hr itinerary. Too bad they don’t have a Toronto one yet!

Wonderful that you have shared Lotta’s work :) I adore her style! I think my favourites are the city scenes!

The city scenes are pretty great. I love her colour palettes too!

Lotta’s work is great! I’ve never heard of her before.
Thanks for the link to the 12hrs site, I just booked a really spontaneous trip to Paris, maybe they put up a guide in time for my trip? I also just visited Antwerp and seem to have missed quite a few cool places, time to go again!

Wow, Lotta’s work is wonderful. Thanks for sharing her work. Going to check out her site now.

I love this! Going to visit her portfolio right now x

Hey, I just stumbled upon your blog and happen to be from Toronto! I’d suggest visiting West Queen West – walking along Queen Street from Bathurst to about Dufferin, there are lots of small art galleries and shops (furniture, clothes, design stuff, vintage, etc.) and of course tasty food. Especially noteworthy are Magic Pony (a gallery/art + design store), Trinity Bellwoods Park (amazing for people-watching), Nadege (for awesome French pastries), Tealish (if you like tea) and Poutini’s House of Poutine (if you like poutine). Kensington Market is another great place for a wander and is full of fun people and great places to eat. Hope that helps!

Hi Dara,

Thank you so much!! This is great! We are actually flying in tomorrow! We’re staying at The Gladstone Hotel. I was browsing google maps and it looks like that’s the exact neighborhood you were referring to :)
Hoping to make it out to Kensington Market tomorrow afternoon and then either The Art Gallery or ROM for Thursday, wish I could do both!

Thanks again, I’ll keep my eyes open for that poutine place :)
