coffitivity

noise for creativity

Working from a home office can get kinda lonely. I am usually blasting music or have tv shows playing in the background to keep me company. I would love to work at a coffee shop but…I’m pretty sure I would get way too distracted people-watching.

I was just browsing through Jess Lively’s blog who posted a perfect solution to this problem. It’s called coffitivity. Click play and you instantly have a subtle and non-distracting coffee shop in your house. Well, minus the coffee that is.

It’s late on a sunday night right now and the last thing I want to do it work but I can’t wait to try it during the week. Random yet awesome idea.

Do you guys listen to music while you work? What do your tunes sound like?

I took the above photo during my latest Portugal trip. Now that’s a country with good coffee!

I love the idea of coffitivity! I heard about it from Swiss Miss. Usually, I’m working with Spotify or a documentary in the background. I did get a bit distracted watching Half The Sky this morning though.

Yeah I can’t always watch stuff in the background but if it’s chill work i really enjoy it. It’s almost calming. I wish we had Spotify in Canada, not available yet, I use Grooveshark instead.

I DEF need music while I’m working…or in my studio. my go-to has been spotify lately. if my music A.D.D. is in high gear- I usually just listen to Washed Out (amazing band…and great busy music if you haven’t heard of them!)

Sweet, I will have to check them out. I always end up going back to my 90’ies tunes.

Hi Alicia! I am totally the same way! I try to work outside of the studio at least once a month. I love coffee shops and am lucky to have one that is pretty peaceful but can be a bit distracting during the busy hours. I make sure my tasks that I have are not intense creative projects rather following up on emails and idea generating. xo
